FAT!SO? calls on all people everywhere to stop lying about weight! Especially on driver's licenses! This comforting practice reinforces fatphobia and hinders size acceptance. When Gloria Steinem turned 40, people kept telling her she didn't look it. She replied: No, this is what 40 looks like. Women have lied about their age for so long, we think 40 looks 32 and 32 looks 28. Likewise, people have been lying about their weight for so long that we don't know a good looking, 250-pound person when we see one. So what? So fat people can't get jobs, lovers, health insurance, respect, etc., because our society can't imagine people weighing more than the numbers on some bogus height/weight chart. Practice honesty right now!
